Executive & Business Coaching

Is coaching for you?

Every coaching engagement is unique and the benefits are both obvious and intangible. Coaching changes people—both the coach and the client. For more than 30 years, most of my skills as coach have come from what I’ve learned from my clients. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing people grow and flourish in their roles. Working with me, you may experience improvements in many areas of your professsional and personal life, including:

Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the at the core of true leadership. It's about being honest with yourself, owning your emotions and feelings, and understanding what motivates you.

Empathy

The ability to recognize emotions in others and understand another's perspective on a situation is critical for the leader. Empathy also leads to true compassion which is empathy in action.

Agile Mind

We live and work in an unpredictable, rapidly-changing world. The agile mind is not reactive, but creative in leading through uncertainty.

Resilience

All leaders face adversity and stress. Maintaining equilibrium and confidence under pressure is one of the most important skills for leaders.

Leadership Skills

Leadership is not about power, its about nurturing vision, marshalling human resources, setting examples, providing foresight, and moving people beyond their own self interests for the good of the organisation.

Return on Investment

Clients report many benefits including increased confidence, better engagement with staff and stakeholders, measurable progress toward goals, higher satisfaction, and lower stress.

Approach

There are many methods in coaching and I approach each engagement individually and structure an approach based upon the specific needs of the client. However, I tend to use both a holistic and democratic approach in most engagements. A holistic approach means that any aspect of your professional and personal life may become part of our work together if that is necessry to meet our goals. A democratic approach means we collaborate on detemrining goals, milestones, and accountability. Every coaching engagement must be built on trust and understanding and establishing that is always first on the agenda. Listening, questioning, reflecting, and challenging where appropriate are my primary methods.

Getting Started

If you would like to explore working together I offer a complimentary introductory meeting. This is not a coaching session but an opportiunity for us to meet and get to know one another. I am not a perfect fit for every situation and it is not uncommon that we agree that's the case after this initial meeting. If you would like to learn more about coaching with me please use one of the contact methods at the bottom of this page.
